Comic Adaptations

I first discovered my 'ability' to write when I was six, during the kindergarten year. My handwriting was so horrible that the teachers had always been complaining they couldn't understand a word I wrote. Feeling demotivated and then got motivated by that 'demotivated' feeling (I hated the feeling therefore I fought it, in order to overcome it -- get it?), I re-discovered the same ability and found a new and better style of handwriting. End of story.

Now that was a bunch of crap writing. What the fish.

Okay, seriously. I first discovered my passion in writing when I always smiled whenever my Bahasa Melayu teacher gave me an essay homework like, every week. I was like, "Hey! Why am I smiling? Oh, because I love writing essays!" But that was Bahasa Melayu essay writing. Years later, when I registered myself as a TESL student, I knew that I was going to write a lot in English. In fact, a lot more and a lot better in English. When I finally got my very own personal computer, nah, I started writing random things every day. And I'm still doing it today.

My counsellor said, "My advice is, you must never allow yourself to be 'bound' by anything that makes you write in a certain way. Because from what I see, you write freely and don't have specific forms or styles. Keep doing that." Yes, I literally write whatever I have in mind and most of the times, nonsense.

But fortunately, that 'nonsense' of mine has somehow managed to put a 'sense' in my life and poof! At least now I know that my nonsense-styled piece of writing is not entirely nonsense, at all. Muahaha!

My once written and published on this blog 'KTMB: A Love Story' has been adapted into an eight-page comic strip illustrated by Fakhrul Anour.

And our next project is on its way. That would be 'Promises' (a twelve-page comic strip).

Well, I can honestly tell you that whenever I write, it is only because of my passion. I write whatever and however I want. Maybe some of them annoy you, maybe some of them inspire you. Doesn't matter which one it is, deep in my heart I thank you for reading.

p/s: Fakhrul Anour, my friend Aimi says that her favourite is 'Edisi Khas Bahasa Melayu 3: 'Unable To Speak'' and she wants this up for the next project. What say you?

Wahhhh! For the first time Igniz mentioned my name at his blog... andddd... obviously just that. I'm flattered... -_-"

Note straight to Aimi:
It was in my plan exactly. But for you... it definitely will be done after I finish 'Promises'... tungguuuu! ^_^

Geed: Alhamdulillah... trimas. (I sketch, Igniz ONLY write...) ^_^

Syafiq: ... obviously. :P

Igniz December 13, 2010 at 5:04 AM

ayour: that's why i didn't want to put 'by Fakhrul Anour & Igniz'. because i don't want people to assume I had anything to do with the illustration. I ONLY write. and Geeds knows that too. don't worry.

Fakhrul Anour December 13, 2010 at 9:21 AM

Igniz: I'm kiddinggg!!! Can U pls get over it... I'm for real here. The work is by 'Fakhrul Anour & Igniz'! OMG... U freak me out already. I feel bad! >_<

Geeds: Exactly I was trying to tease Igniz... to be honest with U, without his writing I won't be inspire anymore to draw comics. He's not only write, he inspired us all with his writing... by the name of God, I sincerely said this from the bottom of my heart.

ayour: eh, dont lah, ayour. I dont want it to be 'Fakhrul Anour & Igniz'. it sounds like as if i'm part of the illustration. you made the illustration yourself. 100% yourself. therefore I dont want to take the credit by sharing it. it's yours. i wont take credits from things I dont deserve. but for the writing part, yes. haha.
dont worry. i had even decided this long before the comic was finished. i want it to be fair.

indah: hi! thank you for reading. :D

Fakhrul Anour December 13, 2010 at 5:07 PM

Igniz: ^_^... as U wish but the comic regards of 1 set, U & me. Plus I didn't create the story, it was yours. I just imagined it into illustrations of comic. So to be fair, it's already 50/50. But if U insist... I'm still taking 50/50.

Igniz December 13, 2010 at 6:14 PM

ayour: i'm sending to them "comic: Fakhrul Anour" & "skrip: Igniz".

Fakhrul Anour December 13, 2010 at 8:55 PM

Igniz: the decision is yours... as long U're comfort with it. ^_^

slm,

Err..can I ask a question, Sir? How does it look now, your handwriting?

Hihi.. ;D

I like them transferred into comic, it looks good, nice illustration by Encik Ayour. And the storyline, made by you, is as always. :) A joy to read. Your random thoughts put in words are just awesome. :) I thought a particular style would make a writer and his piece or writing cool, but you made me think that different styles give readers a rewarding surprise each time they read. I'm still struggling to get my style of writing diverse, anyhow. Dozo yoroshiko, if you'd please?

Igniz December 14, 2010 at 5:02 PM

phyto: hahaha. u ni terlalu memuji lah. regarding the style of writing, i cannot say anything actually. i mean, the writer know him/herself better, aite? and sometimes, they dont realize their own style of writing. the ones reading them do, normally. so, who knows, kan?

if you wanna put variety in your writing, my suggestion is keep reading. but dont stick on the same genre, though. try reading something new. and the best way, listen to conversations and dialogues in movies etc. each character has their own personality, am i right? discover those personalities and transfer them onto papers. just a suggestion. heheh.:D

my handwriting? as cool as ever. muahahahahahaha! XD

phytohystrix December 15, 2010 at 12:11 AM

Yup yup,you have a point. I'll try to get more from dialogues in movies..and books, got 'em! I'll try to put 'em into writing too. It's just that the effect doesn't last long, I think I know why, and that's another concern I have to pay attention to.

I praise too much? Nayh, up there is a critical analysis you know, ;p Ngehehe!

Thanks for the advice, will work on it. :)

Fakhrul Anour December 15, 2010 at 11:41 AM

Phyto: Trust me... he loves praise/s, especially the honest one. Will make him everything U wish for! I mean in writing. {:D

(Hmm... I think I talk to much. >_<)

Igniz: I have no doubt abt your handwriting... really cool, I can even see spaces between each alphabet. It must be done with so much love... for writing. Heee... but that's not why I'm here. Maybe tomorrow after lunch (Thirst-Day: 16th December 2010... around 3 PM - Malaysia Time on the grid of equator, location: land of the primates!) will show U the complete 'PROMISES'... *[O-O]* (Note: seriously since U mentioned about effort, I took it far over the edge... just had my first long nap last night since 3 days ago. Now my mind is about 'UNABLE TO SPEAK'). C ya!
